Free database like MSDE?

Is there a cut down version of Oracle free for Linux like MSDE is for SQL
Server?
I'm looking for something better than MySQL and Postgres.
Thanks in advance,
Peter

Perhaps you might also want to investigate Firebird -
open source, completely free to use.
With regards,
Martijn Tonies
Database Workbench - developer tool for InterBase, Firebird, MySQL & MS SQL
Server.
